Home Security

Crime here is relatively low but there are a number of opportunist thefts that plague the town now and again. In Spain there are two dominant providers; Prosegur and Securitas Direct. Both have similar systems but there are some notable differences.

Prosegur use wifi connections and the hub is plugged directly into an electrical socket whereas Securitas Direct offer a portable base unit that can change location and is connected to an online frequency band.

Both these systems are connected to a control and monitoring station so it won't just sound for a neighbour to be alerted. Both smart hubs allow for direct communication too so if you are on your own, you don't need to worry. There is an English speaking department and the installers speak English too.

Both companies have a price for installation and a cost per month which ranges from 34€ to 55€ depending on the number of sensors you need. During my time here I have had alarms with both providers and I have to say that Securitas came out tops for me. Although more expensive, the piece of mind that you get is comforting if you are out or away.

If you are thinking about alarm installation contact us to arrange a free demo with a representative from Securitas Direct.

Shark!

I saw this video as it made the rounds online last year. A shark was filmed in the Port of Cartagena. There is no need to worry, it's extremely rare.

Murcia City

If you can't get to see Murcia City which is something we all should do at some point whether you live here or are just visiting, this is the next best thing. He did a good job of showing us around the streets and it's worth watching.

Looking Down

One of my friends has an interesting hobby; "Paramotor". I have had the pleasure of riding a dirtbike with him around the old mines in El Algar but I drew the line with this one. I hope you enjoy this video, it does show off the area really well.
